First Appointment

BE Fit has a variety of early morning and evening times available to help work with your schedule. When you are in pain, what matters most is how quickly you can be seen. We strive to get all patients seen as soon as possible. It is our priority to allow patients access to appointments that work for them. If you have specific needs please let us know. It is easier to set appointments up well in advance when possible.

What should I expect at my first appointment?

  • Please plan to arrive fifteen minutes prior to the start of your first appointment.

  • This allows us plenty of time to review your insurance coverage with you, get information regarding your injury or condition, and also gives your therapist chance to get to know your clinical background prior to jumping into your evaluation. By not arriving early you may cut into the available time with the therapist you are scheduled to see.

  • We schedule all evaluations for a full hour.  This gives you and your therapist adequate time to evaluate and treat your condition as well as set up a plan for things you can be working on at home.

  • Your therapist will work with you to discuss your current status as well as your goals for Physical Therapy.  Based on these factors as well as your personal schedule, together you will determine the frequency and duration that you will schedule follow-up visits if they are needed.  Every patient is different and we take this into account when determining the best plan for your full recovery.

  • Each evaluation appointment includes a comprehensive history, physical exam to test range of motion, strength, and flexibility, and an analysis of applicable posture and movement patterns.

  • Many patients come to us with a current program.  We encourage you to bring this in with you as it is helpful to know what you are currently working on.

  • After your visit your therapist will send a formal evaluation report to your referring provider as well as your primary care doctor if you have one.  As you make progress, your therapist will continue to keep your doctors abreast of the improvements you have made.

Payment

  • We accept all major and local insurances. Most out of state plans are also covered in connection with our networks. If you need to find out if our providers are contracted with your insurance we are happy to do that work for you. Call us with your insurance info. This process is usually very quick.

  • If you do not have insurance or prefer to pay privately for your care, we have very reasonable rates.

  • Have a high deductible and worried about racking up a bill? We can help with that as well with individual payment plans as needed, and a careful explanation of what to expect based on your specific benefits.

Our goal is the same as yours: to get you back to 100% as quickly as possible with minimal cost to you. Here at BE Fit, it’s not just “What’s the matter with the patient?”, but “What matters to the patient?”

What should I bring to my first appointment?

  • Your insurance card(s)

  • Your co-payment (if applicable). We accept Cash, Check or Credit.

  • Any referrals, operation notes, MRI/X-Ray reports, or additional information that your referring physician would like us to have.

  • Wear comfortable clothing that is easy to move in.  It is best to wear shorts if we are seeing you for your knee and a tank top if we are seeing you for your shoulder.  We have adequate space to allow you to change if that is needed.

  • Bring a calendar with you.  Often you will need to schedule 2 or more follow-ups.  Having your calendar with you helps to insure that we schedule visits that are convenient for you.

  • Your list of medications – For many patients it is easier to bring a copy of them rather than to trying to remember.

  • For orthotic evaluations or if there is reason to evaluate your running gait then please bring your running shoes or shoes that you would wear orthotics in.

  • Feel free to fill out your medical/injury history reports before coming if you would like to.  The form can be found here.  You may also be asked to fill out a specific function form when you arrive.  This acts as a baseline assessment of your condition on the day of your evaluation.
